The Association of Christians in Health and Human Services (ACHHS) emerged to support biblical integration and ethical practice rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In September of 2019, a group of Christian interdisciplinary professionals from pharmacy, nursing, physician assistants, allied health, athletic training, physical and occupational therapy, psychology, chaplaincy, counseling, and social work gathered for a planning retreat in Cedarville, Ohio, to lay the foundation for starting the association. The work of the planning group resulted in the unanimous decision to plan the launch of the association guided by the ACHHS Statement of Core Beliefs. A few months later, a final draft of the by-laws and articles of incorporation were approved by committee, signaling the official beginning of ACHHS. ACHHS became an official 501c3 nonprofit organization in June, 2020.
