Critical Thinking for Critical Times

Free live Diverse Discussions Webinar on Thursday, December 5, 2024 @6-7PM Central Time (4pm Pacific, 7pm Eastern). This Zoom discussion will not provide any continuing education credit, but feel free to invite your Christian friends and colleagues. A recording of this webinar will be available to ACHHS members in the members-only archive on our website. Please see the bottom of the events page for a list of past webinars we’ve hosted.

Kathy Gibbens is the host of the Filter It Through a Brain Cell podcast, where she teaches critical thinking in short, fun episodes. In 2020, she learned about logical fallacies along with her 7th grade daughter and realized that if more people had the skills of critical thinking, our country wouldn’t be in the state it was in. The podcast was born. Kathy has a heart for teaching the next generation how to seek Truth and love God with their mind.

The webinar presentation will explore these two questions:
  1. What is a logical fallacy?

  2. How do people commonly justify their false presumptions?
Moderator Kat Elias, LCSW, co-hosts and produces “The Rooted and Edified Show,” a Conservative Christian Podcast. She founded BeYOUtifully Rooted, a Christian Mental Health & Education Corporation for women, and is currently on the Board of The Association of Christians in Health and Human Services (ACHHS). Kat has been in the social work field for 20 years, with the majority of her focus in Medical Social Work. She recently (2024) obtained her certificate in Apologetics from Biola.
